The Bible is God's Word, and it is altogether
true. Based on this belief, we as teachers at Deer Creek Christian School
teach the knowledge we are given through our own study of the Word to the students
so that, in turn, they may gain Godly wisdom.
Bible classes are an important part of each grade's curriculum.
The sixth grade year covers a complete overview of
the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. They learn the key facts as well as
how to apply these facts to their lives.
In seventh grade, students study in-depth the
Life of Christ. We teach them the deep love of Jesus, His exemplary work
and life, and what He desires in a follower. Then we give them practical ways
to apply this message to their lives.
The eighth graders study the birth of the first
church in Acts and the labor the apostles did to continue what Jesus did while
here on this earth. We also study the letters of Paul and determine how
God's Word is applicable to life today.
All three grades memorize large passages of
God's Word so they can store it away in their hearts and begin to be prepared
"in season and out" to give an answer for the hope that they have in
Christ. One main way we encourage the application of God's Word in the
lives of our students is by teaching them about service. Students in
grades 6-8 are required to do Service Hours each quarter. It is wonderful to
read the service logs and hear all the ways God is using the children He entrusts
us with to spread the good news and love of Jesus.
