What denomination is the school associated with?
Deer Creek Christian School is a non-denominational ministry. The students come from several dozen area churches.
What is the communication policy of the school?
The principal maintains an open door policy. Parents are encouraged to come in and talk to him at any time without an appointment. Teachers are also asked to communicate regularly with parents. Parents are also encouraged to stay on top of their child's performance and initiate communication with the teachers as well.
What is the ethnic makeup of the student body?
DCCS is proud to be a diverse school. While the majority of the student body is Caucasian, there is a large percentage of African American students as well as Asian and Latino. We strongly believe in multiculturalism, and our diversity is an asset to the school.
What curriculum do you use and what do you place your emphasis on?
We use a variety of curriculum from ABEKA to Bob-Jones. We believe in educating the whole child. We believe all subjects areas are of critical importance and place an emphasis on developing the leaders of tomorrow: critical thinkers and problem-solving students who know how to think outside the box.
How do your students compare to students in other schools (public and private)?
Generally, our students test at one to two grade levels ahead of their public school peers. DCCS graduates thrive in both the public schools and local private schools.
How many students are in attendance at DCCS?
The student body enrollment is different from year to year based on a changing demographic community. Enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year is approximately 165 students.
